Motorola, the pioneer of mobile phones technology has been around for a very long time. Over the last few years they have taken the markets of smartphone technology by storm. Their Moto series of smartphones have been selling like hot cakes in the markets. The Moto G in particular has been one of their most popular offerings. Motorola’s latest release in the Moto G series is all set to release this year as the Moto G5. In a latest set of leaks, it looks like a premium version too, might be on the cards.
Moto G is usually associated with simplicity and for being the common man’s phone. However, Motorola is all set to spice things up this time. The Moto G5 is expected to launch in the regular and plus variants. However, it is likely that the G5 Plus might feature a premium variant as well.
Last time, only the Moto G4 Plus had a fingerprint scanner. Motorola would be upgrading the regular variant too, and the Moto G5 too, would be getting a scanner. Surprisingly, current speculations indicate both the smartphones would be 5.5 inched. A gold colored variant too, is tipped.
The Moto G5 and G5 Plus are likely to both release with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. As always, they will be running the stock Android OS. The phones are also near-assured to get the Android O update, like every year. The primary difference between the Moto G5 and G5 Plus is likely to be that of the processor, RAM and storage.
Both the phones are expected to be shown off at the MWC 2017 event late in February. Motorola is thriving in the low to mid-budget smartphone segment, and has almost dominated the markets in that segment, especially in developing nations.
